The difference in the 7I71 and 7I72 is that the 7I71 is a sourcing driver and the 7I72 is a sinking driver.

This means that loads driven by the 7I71 will have a common ground or - terminal
and loads driven by the 7I72 will have a common + terminal. Depending on how your machine is wired (how are the OAC and ODC SSRS wired on their 24VDC side) using an output card that matches the existing wiring will simplify the retrofit.

That is to say if all of the + input sides of your OAC24s go to +24V You need a 7I72
but if all the - inputs of the OAC24s go to ground, you want a 7I71...

This was why I was suggesting the 7i64, as it allows you to mix-and-match voltages and wiring methods.
It is rather more expensive, though.

I don't have a 5i25 on my Hardinge. I have a 5i20 setup and the link to the wiring diagrams are on page one of this post. Or I didn't understand your question...

Sorry john.

I think I read in some thread, but you had 5i20, going to change 5i25, I thought I already did.

but I can ask what difference is there between (5i20) + (7i33ta) and (5i25) + (7i77) for the connection?

as I connect 7i77 to the inlet 14 and 56 siemens servo?

Well I changed my plasma stepper from 5i20 to 5i25 but that is the only one I've changed. On the Hardinge the 7i33TA connections to the drive are Aout - 14 and Gnd - 56.

Best photo I can get as I can't open the door any more without moving the machine!

I'm currently installing a 5i25 - 7i77 in my BP knee mill...
