I have just recieved my Mesa 5i25+7i77 plug-n-go.

I think I should be familiar with these new cards during my machine completion. Because it's still needs some enhancements.

Now to the first problem that, I downloaded the 5i25.zip file mesanet.com provides and unzipped the same at /lib/firmware/hm2/ But it shows error and later it cant let me choose 7i77. Is there something I am doing wrong ? When I browse the folders then there is some bit files but not any xml file.

Please help !

We dont provide the xml files for pncconf so if you got that zip file from Mesa, most likely its a ini/hal file
set for the 5i25/7i77. These files (5i25-7i77.ini and hm2-servo7i77.hal) are basically the hm2-servo demo
ini/hal filesmodified for the 5I25/7I77 and belong in you local configuration directory = ~/linuxcnc/configs/hm2-servo/ . These files are for people that are _not_ using pncconf and want to setup their system by manual editing the ini/hal files (starting with the example files)

Also there is no hm2-servo file in /linuxcnc/configs/ and it's empty.

There should be a hm2-servo directory in ~/linuxcnc/configs (notice the ~ which means home directory)
is this the latest live CD?

Actually I have two setups and I checked with the one with an old downloaded ubuntu10.04. I will try with the new one and then let you know. Thanks.

Btw. Can someone point me any guide where I can understand how to edit Mesa's supplied configs. Or where to start with these cards ?
