TOPIC: HOW TO PICK A MOTION CONTROL BOARD

Re:HOW TO PICK A MOTION CONTROL BOARD 11 Авг 2012 01:22 #23054

Tonight I tried to make 15V through batteries, the power supply, and resistors I had on hand, but was only able to get down to 17.2 VDC. I don't think that was in tolerance. I'll try again tomorrow and get the correct 15VDC, if that is what I was suppose to connect to IF & JF. Also, it takes me a little bit to try these, because I have to drive across town to get to my lathe, so I'm not slacking if I don't get right back to you.

After reading the posts more carefully, it occurs to me that maybe I should have connected the +-15V or 0Vm on L6 to the main boards (Axis 1) IF & JF with wires? (See attached PDF) Also, you mention removing any connections to the terminals. I attached a picture of what the board looks like with all the connections on it right now. I haven't messed with the wires because I think most go to the dead anilam controller, which is disconnected from the plug so I wasn't going to worry about that, maybe I should?

Here is the image file of the connections I think what you're asking me to try?

yes correct L6 is output connector for + - 15v etc so after checking that these terminals give you + - 15v with reference to the 0v connector , connecting L6 + 15v to RF and IF should enable the drive ( connecting to 0v should disable )

then seperately using a 9v battery or similar connect as per your pdf

YOU DO NOT WANT TO APPLY DC POWER TO L6
The +- 15 are OUTPUTS

If you do not measure +-15 v from these points when the 230VAC is on, you need to trace back and find out why

I'll give it another try today, thanks!

One question before I try this today. Should I disconnect all the wires on the L6 terminal block? You can see all the connections on the picture. thx!

The 230VAC input is needed as thats what powers the +-15 volt supply that runs all the low voltage logic on the drives.
