I'm new to EMC2 & electronic challenged...

Downloaded all the manual & read them with great difficulties due to my limited electronics vocabulary...

I have a stupid question, What does the Spindle PWM do? Exactly?
Does it send signal straight to the VFD to control the speed?
What is "PWM component" mean?
How would I know if I need "PWM component" for VFD?

Thank you for your attention & appriciate the help.

PWM is pulse width modulation. The type of speed signal you need for a VFD depends on the VFD. What kind of VFD do you have?

I have a Huanyang VFD. Do you mean I can connect the Spindle PWM terminal on the BOB directly to the VFD?
Here is the manual http://www.stepdrive.ru/doc/VFD%20Manual.pdf
and Q2,
How can I relate this attached circuit with this whole setup?

I'm no electronic expert for sure but it looks like you might have/need a 0-10v speed reference.
Does your manual have any info on external speed control?

It did say that the
"AM" terminal is a "output terminal of digital frequency" which has a factory setting of 0~10
Also, "VI" is "Analog Voltage Frequency Referenc input" & the factory setting is "0~ +10V corresponding to the highest operating frequency."
AND, "AI" is "Analog current Frequency Reference input" "4~20mA coresponding to the highest operating frequency"

All these sound like Alian Nation to me....

Looks like you have your choice of 0-10 volts or 4-20 milliamp neither of which is PWM. Either one you use you will need something other than the parallel port to generate an analog signal. My personal favorite is a Mesa 5i20 with a 7i33TA daughter board for a 0-10 volt analog out and 7i37TA daughter boards for digital I/O (inputs and outputs).

sorry I can't resist, here is a link for PWM info...
