2nd Cinci Up and Running

Thanks for all of the help. Here are a few pictures of our 2nd and soon to be third lathes retrofitted with Linux CNC! I have in cluded a few pics of the old control and the new set-up.
Machine is a 15CC 32,000 lbs of american Iron with swing up tailstock and an upper and lower tool turret.

Hello Andy,

It saves an enormous amount of space, the big blue controller in the one picture with the screen and film roll on the lower left is completly replaced as well as 20 something ice cube relays and about 10 old allen bradley counters by the 5I23/7I44/7I49/7I70/7I71/7I73 combo we are using. About 6 weeks of making back planes and wiring and then another 2-3 weeks of programming/troubleshooting to get to the point where that machine is.

Congratulations on acheiving a beautiful build on a MONSTER LATHE!! That thing is a beast. I cannot wait to be in your shoes with a running machine and everything working as intended. Now you just need to post some videos of that gargantuan making some chips for us all to enjoy. Peace and good luck with it.

Rick, an equal machine has arrived to retrofit. You could help in how to connect the resolvers please. any help is appreciated. I used 7I49 Mesanet.
