Does anyone have drawings or models for servo adapter plates to fit X and Y axis on Brigdeport type knee mill? At one point I had these but cannot locate them at the moment.

Thanks,

Is this a mill that you lost the servos or one that still has never been converted to CNC?

Never been converted. Would like to utilize some Kollmorgren servos that we salvaged from a pc of automation.

Does it have ball screws now?

My BP conversion with Anilam 1100m system uses belt reduction between the ball screws and the servos for X , Y and Z axes. Every different conversion kit would be different in design.

This one does not have ball screws at the moment but we will purchase and install for this conversion. I will design our own mounting for the existing servos and use a reduction belt design. I want the Y axis motor behind and under the table and the X axis can be mounted on the outside of the mounting bracket. Haven't figured out the Z axis yet but we will.

That is the way mine is done.

This is a photo of the front showing the Z axis. The servo drives the ball screw via a belt reduction. I can take more detailed photos of the innards if needed.

John,

Good pic. I would like to see how the Z is mounted to the quill. If it would not be too much trouble for you, could you show me how it is mounted.

Thanks,

Reg

This is the one I designed for my not-a-Bridgeport:

(You can see the foundry pattern it was made from at the bottom of the photo)
