Here is the dmesg output from earlier this morning. Using this line to load the driver

loadrt hostmot2 debug_idrom=1 debug_module_descriptors=1 debug_pin_descriptors=1 debug_modules=1

I dont think its anything low level just that the name in hal is wrong somehow. (the extraneous "/hm2")

The proper parameter name is in the parameter list (from your 5i25_7i77_pins_parameters.txt)

9 u32 RW 0x3B9ACA00 hm2_5i25.0.watchdog.timeout_ns
