The pin info is a big help, thanks! I'll have to take some time to check if what I have works.

It has the factory motor and two large relays for the spindle.

That is a similar setup to my BP series 1 with an Anilam conversion on it. I used a GS2 VFD from Automation Direct for the spindle. EMC can control them and they only need single phase 220v for the input.

I have been holding off buying anything until I know that the drives work. So far I haven't been able to enable them. The power supply board Yellow LED is on as well as the Green LED. I can hear the relay click and the Green LED is extingushed when I enable but there is no power to the axis drives. I thought it was the DC voltage being too high but as far as I can tell that is not the case. Anyone have any ideas or thoughts?

Thanks

Benjamin

Is the old control DOA? I finally jumpered out the drive enable and used a lab power supply with a couple of switches to "drive" my CHNC around... a 1.5v battery and a couple of switches should work to see if the axis drives work.

It's too late to see what leds are lit up on my boards, I'll try and remember to look in the morning.

I gave up on the controller and shelved it. If I feel like it I could work on it again but for now I'll go with Linux.

Yes John, that's what I was going to check the drives with. For now I'm mostly curious what LEDs are supposed to be lit. One other thing. Before I removed the controller, when the drives were enabled there was interference with the CRT, similar to what you would get if you had a spark coil near an old telvision. If I disconnected the ribbon that links the boards there was no interference. When the ribbon was reconnected and the power turned on, all the servos advanced 10 thou and all the LEDS were lit up on the boards, 5 reds, 1 green, and 1 yellow

Worst case scenario I'll scrap everything and have a manual mill, I bought it with that in mind.

I'm reduced to dial up atm but I'll go out to the shop and look at my cards under power and see what leds are lit up. Are you seeing the leds on the axis boards or the main board?
