joint 0 on limit switch error

hey guys I just got my CNC machine set up yesterday and had it running for 5 minutes before it gave a joint 0 on limit switch error (it's now also giving a joint 2 on limit switch error) everything when I found on the subject as been guys talking to other guys who know what they're doing and I'm completely green to this whole thing I was wondering if somebody could walk me through it step by step how to fix this? Thanks.

first of all joint on limit switch errors are mostly down to not configuring the soft limits ..i.e the red dotted area shown as the work area or work envelope etc
this is set in your ini
and is the distance the tool or carage can travel before it hits a limit , soft limits are set in software , and shuld give an area just inside of the physical travel before hiting your real limit switches

To back up even more, do you have limit switches on your machine?
