USB ports won't work after install

I installed LinuxCNC with no problem. For some reason when booting off of the flash drive, all my USB ports worked on 3 different motherboards (Asus, AsRock, and Gigabyte). After the install, none of the USB ports work and I get the error below on boot up. I thought it was USB 3.0 related, so I disabled USB 3.0 in the bios, but I still get the error and the USB ports don't work. Any ideas anyone? Thanks in advance for the help!

usb 1-1: device not accepting address 3, error -110
usb 1-1: device not accepting address 4, error -110

usb 1-1: device not accepting address 1, error -110
usb 1-1: device not accepting address 2, error -110

Is this with the RTAI realtime kernel?

There was an issue with that, which was fixed recently.
So you may need to update the RTAI kernel.

Thanks Chris. Is that something that would update with running the typical updates? I ran the regular updates a few weeks ago, but the error kept occurring.

I installed LinuxCNC with no problem.

Afraid that does not tell us anything.
Can you be precise as to which version, of which distro, you installed and onto what machine (motherboard model).

There is already a warning on the latency test list that some motherboards have been found to have non-functioning USB with rtai kernel.
wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Latency-Test

I was not aware that this issue was resolved, that may have been another USB issue.
If apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade followed by reboot does not solve it, need all the info as per first para.

regards

This issue (non working USB on Baytrail = J1800,J1900,J2900 based) motherboards
has been fixed on the wheezy RTAI kernel as of a few days ago.

Thanks to Brian Morel for chasing down the patch that fixed
the USB issue, Sebastian Kuzminsky for building the distribution kernel
and Chris Radek for packaging it with the latest (2.6.4) ISO image

This is important as these are very nice fanless systems, much faster than the Atom D525s
at the same or lower power

Excellent, I obviously missed that announcement on the lists.

I will amend the latency page in a while

EDIT: Now done, original entry left in with update re 3.4.55-4-rtai kernel

Thank you everyone, I will try downloading the 2.6 version to see if that fixes the issue.

BTW
The patched kernel is 3.4.55-4
The non-working(on Baytrail) kernel is 3.4.55-3
