Hi guys new to EMC ubuntu

heres my problem i have tryed to install the new version 10.04 & emc but it will not install gets so far and just freezes (cleen install)
dont know why but i have installed the older 8.04 & emc i think. and it works fine no problems at all
seems odd

pentium duocore 2Ghz
2 Gig ram
120G HD
64bit invidia graphics card

i would like to install the new version

tryed different versions of Ubuntu but only version 8.04 works

any ideas

Hi

This is a Ubuntu issue rather than EMC

A google search will throw up hundreds of people reporting similar issues with 10.04 and probably every release prior to and since.
If you search Ubuntu forum, you may find something relating specifically to your machine and whether anyone has found a way of installing to it.

If you want to try a newer version of EMC, you can download and compile it to run on Ubuntu 8.04

I've had a HD with windows installed and never could get Ubuntu to install over it so I swapped to a freshly formatted drive and the install went fine. John
