emc2_2.4.1 Release
A fresh bugfix release (Changelog). You can get it: as a source package from sourceforge , from Git , or as a precompiled package which works on Ubuntu as described here .
 
Ubuntu 8.04&EMC2 Live CD
The EMC2 team has a custom Live-CD (EU mirror) based on Ubuntu 8.04 with emc 2.3.x included, that will let you try out EMC2 before installing, and it's also the easiest way to install Ubuntu and EMC2 together. (more)

Has anybody conected MasterCam to EMC ?

Or a proposal what type of default machine I should use ?

I'm not really sure what your asking... MasterCam can output g code to a file that EMC can load and run. If your wondering which config to use try the Stepconf Wizard to generate a config for your machine if it is a stepper driven machine.

I know G-Code and stepconfig.
I'm running since longer time a EAGLE to EMC configuration to drill my selfmade electronic boards.

Now I have a big mill and want to run CNC via EMC.

I do my mechanical projekts with SolidEdge 18 .
Now I try to generate a "EMC" G Code via Mastercam. That means a postprocessor has to "compile" for my machine.

Mastercam has F.X. a 3 axis Fanuc P-Processor includet. My understanding is that I have to have something for EMC...

Or am I wrong ?

I saw that but I'm using the newest version X4

And as I understand, between 9 and X4 they changed "machines"

now they use for mill file extentions: WMD; control ; instead of the old .txt

Too bad they didn't invite a site where you can just search for things.
Oh wait, they did.. quite a few actually (google, bing, yahoo, etc)
