Gamepad remote pendant questions 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hey guys, been using EMC 2.3 for a while now and wanted to try to add the "Simple joystick remote pendant" as described on the Wiki.

My question right now (there will be more) is, are there any gamepads to avoid, or that work best ? All the ones I have been finding are USB, is USB okay to use for this without causing latency issues or anyhing ? And if anyone has a better writeup or info on how to get it working then the Wiki could you share ?

Thanks everyone ! Glad to see a web forum going now !!

I know for sure that the one in this article works.

wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/emcinfo.pl?Simple_Remote_Pendant

halui is a userspace component so there are no issues with using a usb port or latency.

The only cavet is if you program the joypad in EMC will not load if you have it unplugged.
